We are pleased to welcome new faces to the Canadian Alcohol Use Disorder Society team, and to let you know of new information, opportunities and resources coming your way!

Thank you to Dr. Roland Engelbrecht, who shared his extensive knowledge about prescribing for Alcohol Use Disorder as a part of Interior Health’s Echo Project on Mental Health and Substance Use. In this 10-minute presentation, clinicians and patients alike can learn more about different treatment options for Alcohol Use Disorder.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT We are thrilled to be working with many partners including a communications research team from the University of Alberta to pilot a strategy for communicating about AUD to community leaders.

SMASHED is an inspiring and award-winning documentary by Mutant Films, which features Dr. Jeff Harries and his mission of change. View the Smashed website to learn more and to be notified when the film is released.

Once again, we wish to thank everyone who donated to the Canadian AUD Society to honour Dr. Jeff Harries, who passed away in late 2021.

By founding our society, Jeff was able to turn his personal mission to change the way AUD is understood and treated into a national strategy. With your generous donations, we are determined to continue his legacy, and implement his plan to transform lives across Canada and beyond.

Help us continue Dr. Harries’ important work.

Please consider donating today.
