  • Jan Biega

    COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR

Jan attended the Monk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy at the University of Toronto and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in International Relations. A love for food, culture, and travel encouraged him to then pursue a master’s degree in gastronomy from the University of Adelaide. His thesis explored the role of modern craft beverages in the formation of new cultural tribes and communities. That genuine passion for exploring the flavours and cultural significance of beer and wine led to a long, varied career path in the alcohol industry. While he continues to have a deep appreciation for the artistry of these products, a growing sense of responsibility and a desire to make a positive impact on his community motivated Jan to join CAUDS in 2024. He now channels his extensive industry experience into initiatives that promote healthier lifestyles, contribute to community well-being, and address the often-overlooked consequences of alcohol consumption.
