Interior Health Wins Innovation Award for AUD Care!
The Solventum Health Care Innovation Team Award was recently given to Interior Health for its leadership in transforming AUD care in emergency settings. Their efforts have led to better patient outcomes, reduced system strain, and more cultural sensitivity in care approaches.
The recognition also reflects years of work by CAUDS partners, especially our founder Dr. Jeff Harries, whose early efforts helped lay the foundation for these system-wide changes.

Kamloops Pulp Mill Hosts (Mock)Tailgate BBQ for Alcohol and Wellness Awareness
As part of CAUDS' community engagement work in Kamloops, Kruger’s Pulp Mill hosted a "mock-tailgate BBQ" during Men’s Health Week—bringing wellness resources, expert advice, and alcohol-free drinks directly to workers.
A joint effort between the employer, union, health and safety team, and United Way BC, the event highlighted practical guidance on alcohol, health, and available supports.

Welcoming New Partners in the Comox Valley
CAUDS is proud to begin a new partnership with the Comox Valley Substance Use Collaborative, led by the Indigenous Women's Sharing Society. Together, we’ll be working to raise awareness, increase access to care, and help foster a healthier culture around drinking in Courtenay, Comox, and Cumberland. We’re honoured to support their leadership and look forward to learning from the community.

Check Out Our New Donor Page!
We’ve launched a new donor page to make it easier to support CAUDS and our work. Your contribution helps advance education, expand access to care, and reduce alcohol-related harms through training, research, and grassroot collaborations.
CAUDS is a registered charity, and all donations are eligible for a tax receipt. Learn more and give here.
We would like to extend our gratitude to the BC Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions for their generous support of our work. With their funding assistance, we are able to expand advocacy for alcohol use disorder to be treated as a health condition. This understanding allows AUD and its treatments to be approached with compassion and renewed hope for those affected.
Thank you!
